About Me

My name is Karin Leden, and I am the founder of The Center for the Healing Mind PLLC. I am a licensed psychotherapist in Illinois and Wisconsin, holding a Master’s degree in Social Work and being a member of the National Association of Social Workers, as well as being a Certified Trauma Clinical Professional. I offer a variety of therapies, including cognitive behavioral therapy, internal family systems, and somatic therapy. Because of this, you never had to deal with someone unfamiliar with any aspect of your therapy. Throughout my years, I have been involved in a variety of practices, ranging from private to public mental health and medical social work. I have worked with traumatized kids, offenders on probation, community professionals, and the general public.

This is not just a business for me; I enjoy my work. Knowing I can make a positive change in people’s lives is what gets me up in the morning. I started this business because I believe in quality therapy and helping others help themselves. I am what they call an “eclectic therapist”, meaning I pull from multiple treatment approaches, making it exclusively personal and unique to your needs. I am constantly seeking additional educational opportunities through seminars and professional growth. I value the idea that everyone needs to have respect and compassion for not only others but themselves as well and that everyone has a right to a happier life.

I am a Rockford native. I’ve lived in this area my whole life with my parents and three older siblings. Outside of work, I am an adventurer. I spend my free time in the summer in Wisconsin camping, hiking, and traveling. I enjoy experiencing new places in nature and cultures outside my own. Snowy winters take me out on the snowmobile trails in Wisconsin as well. My wonderful husband and two beautiful daughters join me on these adventures, along with our two large and rambunctious dogs. My daughters and their friends often joke that I’m the “cool mom”. When asked why, they said I am “approachable and funny” and that “she actually listens to me”. As a therapist, these are key traits I value having. My family and friends are why I am so committed to helping people work towards full and happy lives.

As office manager and billing specialist, I, Kelly Sanchez handle the administrative side of Center for the Healing Mind. I bring organization, efficiency, and a personal touch to support both clients and providers. I manage billing and office operations so clients and clinicians can focus on what matters most— healing and growth.”
